My Lowest Offer Ever Received Through a Domain Aftermarket

September 19, 2012

In the past year I’ve begun listing my domains for sale on Chinese domain aftermarket 4.cn.  Several months ago, I was delighted to finally receive an email notification from 4.cn about a pending offer on one of my domains.

The lowest offer one can receive on domain aftermarket Sedo.com is $60, and I have received such offers there before as I’m sure many of you have.  Minimum offers fare a bit better on Afternic, where the default floor is $250.

I’m not sure that there is a minimum offer price on 4.cn, but the one I received was for 200 RMB (Chinese Yuan Renminbi).

4.cn Offer - 200 RMB

I see your 200 RMB and raise you this used vinyl grill cover

Using the XE.com universal currency converter, I calculated the dollar value based on the exchange rate at that time to be $31.84.

Needless to say I did not respond to the offer.

A few weeks later the buyer came back at 500 RMB, or $79.61 USD.  Still not enough to shift in my swivel chair.

In actuality, I’m sure that I have been sent some lower offers before via email and contact forms on parked pages, but this is definitely the lowest to date that I’ve ever had directly through an aftermarket platform.  How about you?
