¿Quién Es Mitt Romney?

Meet the Griswolds

A Look At Some of the Presidential Hopeful’s Campaign Domain Strategies

Leading up to the U.S. presidential election it looks as though its now down to two men, and at least one of those two are using Google Adwords to promote their campaign.

That would be Mitt Romney.  I discovered an advertisement (see below left) for MittRomney.com returned for the search phrase u.s. election advertising sponsors.  However I failed to identify other search terms so there’s no telling how big an Adwords spend they actually have going.

Here are a few more interesting observations …

In what looks like an attempt to help capture the Latino constituency, Romney’s team has launched a separate Spanish-language site at JuntosConRomney.com.

Juntos Con Romney translates to “Together With Romney”.  On the site you’ll find the above photo which looks like it was taken with Instagram, or perhaps of a team of stunt doubles from National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Interestingly, someone has also registered the domain JuntosConMitt.com.  The domain is under privacy and resolves to a GoDaddy parked page.   Since Romney’s domains are also under privacy protection, its not clear who the registrant is.  The domains were registered 10 days apart.

Yet another website linked to from Romney central is the site ObamaIsntWorking.com.  I had a quick chuckle at this what seems to me a humorous play on words, since its arguable what purpose politicians actually serve if any, whilst living off of the productive labors of others.

Speaking of Obama, its well known that last election the Obama campaign made great use of social media such as Twitter and Facebook to gain huge traction on the internet.  Not to be outdone, this election Romney has posted a link to his public Spotify playlist.

I don’t actually have a Spotify account, so I can’t see the page, but if you do, leave a comment below and let me know what’s on Mitt’s playlist, or if you know of any other interesting domain-related tidbits regarding the campaign.

As always thanks for reading!
